Mylestone volunteers, sponsors and friends hightailed it to the Country Fun Event at the Colorado Café in Watchung, NJ on June 24th. The event featured dinner, dancing and a small silent auction, all to benefit our rescue horses.

The night started with a yummy buffet before the bar opened to the public, followed shortly thereafter by line dancing and two-stepping lessons. Even those with two left feet could join in the fun and learn the dances. The DJ kept the crowd moving throughout the evening and the dance floor was packed with people showing off their dancing skills. Several attendees were invited to the dance floor by some of the bar’s “regulars” to teach them more of the line dances. There were a few daring souls who even rode “Buck Off” the mechanical bull.
A perfect ending to a great buffet, a Mylestone cake!

For those attendees not into line dancing, they were able to hop over to the other section of the bar where they enjoyed the band The Jonzes. The Jonzes, a cover band, played a variety of songs from Rick Springfield’s” Jessie’s Girl” to Lynard Skynard’s “Sweet Home Alabama” and everything in between. There was something for everyone at this fun event!

Thank you to Mary Holmes for pulling together the slideshow that played throughout the evening showing all our horses as well as our mission and opportunities to volunteer, and to the Colorado Café for making this year’s event a success!
