Danny Boy Joins Us at Mylestone

Danny Boy, a very cute pony and 30+ years old, joined us at Mylestone in early February 2016. We first met Danny over 20 years ago, purchased by his owner when a barn where he had been a lesson pony was closing and he urgently needed a home.

Danny's devoted owner passed away suddenly and her family needed help placing her horses. She had adopted horses from Mylestone over 15 years ago, and over the years that followed, had taken in many more horses in need. Fortunately, she had wonderful friends -- Audrey, Laurie, Danielle and others -- who were devoted to helping find new homes for 14 of her horses.

Danny is blind in one eye, but gets around fine. He is currently going out with Daniel, another older pony who has very limited vision. Because of his age, we have Danny Boy on a senior feed and a hay pelleted feed which we soak with water to make into an easy mash to eat, which he relishes. Danny comes in the barn at night and is across from the feed room. He is always looking forward to the next meal coming his way.

At 30+ years, Danny will live out his remaining days with us here at Mylestone. We are looking forward to trying him out in our grooming program with the special needs kids as he enjoys attention and is very friendly.

Mylestone looks forward to continuing Danny's care and insuring that he's comfortable and content. This sweet senior boy has all he needs but for one thing … you! Won't you please welcome him and help support him by sponsoring Danny? Or if you prefer, make a donation towards his care and just let us know it's for Danny Boy. Your kindness is very much appreciated.
