The first thing visitors encounter when they come to Open House now is a visitor's welcome area providing information of every kind.
Open House was a great success despite having to move to our Rain Date of 10/14! Our volunteers rallied together and rearranged their schedules to be here and help us get ready. They were really amazing! We had a smaller turn out than in the past, but still averaged over 500 people coming to visit.
Children and adults alike were thrilled to meet the horses. This youngster greets Tommy Two Tone.
Our bake sale tent was packed with goodies and patrons most of the time. Our silent auction was a huge hit, special thanks to Patti Colburn and Brian Evans. The silent auction took up three tents this year! The Mylestone merchandise was selling in several spots around the farm and did extremely well.
One of our vets, Dr. Mary Beth, helped out behind the main merchandise table in the barn, along with her daughter, Tempe, and volunteers Gay and Jackie.
We were fortunate enough to have both our vets helping out this year. Dr. Mary Beth was behind our main merchandise table with her daughter and Dr. Christina, accompanied by her baby, was over by Poppy and Mini Pearl with a medical display about the horses.
Apache greets visitors of all ages.
One of our main goals was to increase our sponsorship support and we were fortunate enough to get several new sponsors for the rescue horses. We also had a variety of vendors who were able to come and set up.
One of our visitors was delighted that Scout made an extra effort to reach out and say hello.
The horses were wonderful. Scout was our official greeter once again. Piper stood by the fence the entire time while people petted her. Jackson enjoyed all the attention, as did Jingle and Ghost. Mini Pearl and Poppy were a main attraction for our visitors.
There was plenty for visitors to see, learn and do. Our many tents featured great vendors, our bake sale, silent auction and merchandise of all kinds.
Bruce and Susankelly were delighted to greet longtime supporters and friends such as Jennifer Wexler, above, as well as meet new ones!
It was a great day and we are very appreciative for everyone’s help in putting on our annual Open House. It is a wonderful way for people to see our rescue efforts and meet the horses!
