"C'mon, guys! The visitors are arriving!" says Sunny, followed by Ethan and Margrit.
It was a brisk sunny day ... perfect for visitors and perfect for horses! This year was Mylestone's 10th Annual Open House, a celebration of all we do all year for the horses, and an opportunity for donors, sponsors and horse lovers to learn what Mylestone is all about.
There was a terrific crowd of 600-700 people throughout the day, so many, that by 1:15 the parking area was nearly full! A special thanks to SORT.org who promoted the event with an ad reaching every home in Hunterdon County, and all other publications/individuals who helped publicize the event. It was great to see so many of our sponsors and donors come out as well as the many new folks who came by.
The rescue horses were just groomed and all looking their best. Many of our guests commented on how healthy and happy they were. Some of our newest horses got some new sponsors; people were particularly touched by Clyde's story.
At left, Clyde meets Girl.
Our newcomer was quite comfortable with the many folks who came by to say hello to the fellow who was so close to being sent to slaughter
Diana Tuorto, one of many generous vendors and supporters of Mylestone.
We had many wonderful vendors supporting Mylestone through a percentage of their sales. Among them Sue Voorhees of Arbonne Swiss Skin Care Products, Kelli Green of Silpada Jewelry, Eli Dock with artwork by Arjen and handmade jewelry,Pony Tails 4-H doing face painting, Diana Tuorto, equine author and more.
Woody made lots of friends and was one of the first official greeters at the fence to say hello to everyone.
