Partly Cloudy

Partly Cloudy - known as Cloudy - was a large pony, in his early 20's, who we accepted to Mylestone to prevent his going to auction. We wanted to help his young owner, under 18 years old, who was trying to do the right thing in the face of family financial difficulties.

Cloudy was a very handsome fellow with some issues we began working on as soon as he arrived. His former vet felt he had a pinched nerve which was evidenced by the way Cloudy carried his head, and how he turned without bending his neck. He was also too thin and had not gotten farrier care in a while. He had a brand on his right shoulder where there was also arthritis and enlarged muscles. He showed signs of having been abused in the past by someone, seemingly not the owners who surrendered him to Mylestone.

Cloudy was a very smart and complex horse. In the time he was with us, he had truly come around. He was bright and playful, and would have made an excellent companion for younger horses if adopted. He was also incredibly photogenic!

Cloudy gradually became much better to work around and good for the farrier compared to how frightened he was when he first came. He started out going out at night in a large field alone, but liked to flirt with Cleo and Piper who were in the field next to him.

You can read Cloudy's complete story here when he arrived.
