Cleo is a 14 year old thoroughbred mare with a permanent knee injury. She suffered an injury on the track which caused fragments of bone to chip in her knee. She could never race again. Cleo was also leased out as a test mare, then saved from slaughter when the testing process was over. She could barely walk off the trailer when we first got her. She now runs around the fields. She is timid and a real handful. Cleo is not rideable and is available for adoption as a companion horse only. She gets very attached to other mares. Cleo must also have an experienced handler as she was ear twitched at the testing facility, making her head shy. Despite her issues, Cleo is deserving of a home with someone who will be patient and understanding.  Please contact us if you are interested in adopting Cleo.
